A Historical View: Hidden Pain at the Frick

For this project, I surveyed the Frick Collection Library. In the actual museum, women are always seen as prim and proper, sitting pretty in elaborate gowns. However, their pain was hidden quite well in these portraits; all of these women are wearing a variation of the corset. This book delves deeper into the history of the corset and what information the Frick Collection has to offer about it.
